DESCRIPTION: 【The Impossible Becoming Possible】This is a self-portrait of me during the COVID-19 experience (left and right). Before COVID-19 (left), my face was bare and one could depict what I was feeling through my facial expressions. The background showed a bright sunny day with a tree blooming with green leaves representing my plans set for the future which all seems bright and fun. When COVID-19 occurred (right), my face was half-covered with a mask. I found myself needing to speak louder and explain myself more. My once sunny blue skies turned into a dark night scene with stars. However, my tree was still blooming, surprisingly, with blue leaves. As I reflect, this shows the “impossible becoming possible”. What seemed hard, nearly impossible to cope with during COVID-19 slowly became a possibility, a new normal, a routine, a part of me and a part of everyone else. I still bloomed but saw the future differently, a type of future that could still be beautiful during the dark night, under the shining moon and stars together with the bright blue tree. The resilience in me started working and pushing my tree to adapt to the current situation. My appreciation in the “here and now” allowed me to admire the beauty that still shines.
