DESCRIPTION: My piece shows what life was like from my lens during the Singapore lockdown or what we locally call “Circuit Breaker”.
During this period, schoolwork was taken online which we call Home Based Learning.
Talking to your friends and teachers are all done via the computer. It is different but there are no exams!
As I look out my window, I can see the playground where I meet my friends but now, the playground is cordoned off and we are not allowed to use it. I miss playing with my friends.
If we do go out, we must wear a mask all the time.
This year, I was to go on a school camp to Malaysia. It was an event I was really looking forward to and i am hoping that things will go back to normal so that I can still go for the camp at the end of the year.
I was also looking forward to traveling with my family end of the year. We have planned to visit Dubai in December.
It is all very strange, and I felt sad and glad. Sad as I cannot do some of the things I like but glad that I got to spend more time with my family and we are all healthy and safe.
I drew this to show my experiences during circuit breaker, and how I felt like. I hope that through this artwork, people can see how different peoples view of circuit breaker is.
