DESCRIPTION: 【Illumination】It was early morning and I was out for my run. Nothing special, just a normal sunny day.
As I was running down a slope, I saw what seems to be a pair of bright angel wings. This got me excited and I hurried to the bottom. I thought someone was wearing an angel costume but there was nobody around. Whatever that was, it illuminated in my mind to paint this image – of a girl trapped in a dark tunnel painfully trying to reach out to the beautiful world outside.
As I started to sketch the girl in the tunnel, it dawned on me that this girl was actually me! I was indeed in a dark place with my own struggles and uncertainties. All the people and the wonders of nature that I love so much felt like a distant memory, unreachable to me.
When I expanded my sketch of the outside world, an unexpected news of a novel corona virus surfaced. Soon, the world is facing a pandemic and some parts are in chaos! We are all locked down in our own homes and country, also trying to reach out to the normal world that we once knew.
Some of us got depressed, disheartened and stressed out by this pandemic. Some turn to illumination of any sort to cope just like me painting this artwork, hoping for brighter days ahead while in lockdown and confusion.
As I slowly emerge from my own tunnel, I want to share a verse that encourages me and the realisation of how great God is.
I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them;
I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth.
These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them. – Isaiah 42:16
Remember, God our Heavenly Father is always with us. We must be calm and assured to receive His blessings of good health, family, relationships, and peace of mind. God is definitely working something out that we cannot see with our eyes but trust Him by faith!
