Chathuranga Gamage is an alchemist, transmuting the raw material of his life into breathtaking art and advertising work that has won gold around the world. Indeed, having worked at Leo Burnett, Sri Lanka's leading advertising agency, for more than half a decade, he has played a vital role in almost all of the local and international awards won by the company, including Sri Lanka's first D&AD pencil, Sri Lanka's first CANNES LION, Sri Lanka's first CLIO award, and much more.
In addition to his work in advertising, Chathuranga is also an accomplished artist, having won numerous arts awards, including the 2018 State Art and Sculpture Festival Award in Colombo. He is an innovative artist, experimenting with different objects, mediums, and colours to create new expressions. Whether it's designing his own clothing, ceramic plates and mugs, or even bespoke toilet tissue, Chathuranga takes pride in transforming humble materials into never-before-seen creations that bring light and colour into this world. However, the work that has taken him the furthest - literally - is the motorcycle he designed and rides which, to-date, is the only one of its kind on the island.
