Chen Kexin

Art Healer / China

About

Chen Kexin is a passionate practitioner of art therapy and spatial design, dedicated to exploring how art can exert its healing power in everyday environments. In her childhood, she used colors to depict a fantastical world, but under the pressure of the examination-oriented education system, she once got lost in standardized learning. It was not until she majored in visual communication design that she truly realized that art is not just a display of skills but also a medium for healing the human heart. This epiphany led her onto the path of art therapy.

Today, as a registered art therapist at the HKBAHE Art Therapy Research Institute, Chen Kexin delves deep into how art affects mental health. In her clinical practice, she has discovered that traditional therapeutic methods often face two major dilemmas: short-term courses are difficult to maintain long-term effects, and the high costs of long-term programs discourage many people. Therefore, she put forward the concept of a "healing space" and is committed to integrating art therapy into interior design, enabling everyone to receive spiritual nourishment in their daily lives.

Her healing brand, "Uitwaing," features symbols of a house, a smile, a heart, and a paintbrush, conveying the core values of warmth and care. In her work "Blooming Charm," she skillfully combines the floral elements of Chinese meticulous painting with modern acrylic materials to create healing furniture and soft furnishings that possess both traditional charm and modern aesthetics, infusing a tranquil atmosphere into the space. In addition, her paintings, such as "Resurrecting the Deadly" and "Human and Nature," which focus on the themes of nature and life, prompt people to reflect on the relationship between humans and the environment.

Chen Kexin always adheres to the concept of "inclusive healing." By integrating academic research, interdisciplinary practice, and emerging technologies, she explores the profound value of art in psychological healing and spatial shaping. Her goal is to make art an accessible means of spiritual nourishment for everyone, allowing healing to truly become a part of daily life.

In March 2025, she was invited to join the Asian Art Association Singapore (Social Engagement, Public Art & Healing Arts).

Artist Statement

At the core of my artistic ideology is the concept of "inclusive healing." Through in-depth academic research, interdisciplinary practice, innovation in traditional culture, and technological empowerment, I am committed to making art an accessible means of spiritual nourishment. Artistic Achievement

- The logo of my healing brand "Uitwaing" takes a house as the core element, incorporating designs such as a smiley face, a heart, and a paintbrush. It vividly conveys a caring and professional brand image that is widely recognized, perfectly embodying the core value of creating a warm and healing space for people.

- In the work "Blooming Charm," I skillfully draw inspiration from the floral elements in Chinese meticulous paintings and use acrylic materials to design healing furniture and soft furnishings. By combining the beauty of traditional art with the characteristics of modern materials, it presents exquisite and elegant floral patterns, injecting a serene and healing atmosphere into the space and allowing the charm of art to be revealed in everyday life scenes.

- Moreover, I have actively explored in the field of painting and created several works themed around nature and traditional patterns, such as "Resurrectiion the Deady" and "Human and Nature." These works use different painting tools and techniques to showcase my profound thoughts and unique interpretations of nature, ecology, and life, and to a certain extent, they have triggered the reflection and resonance of the audience on the relationship between humans and nature.
