Dieer Hu, a young mezzo-soprano, is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) in Vocal Performance at The Catholic University of America. Dedicated to the art of vocal music and opera performance, she holds a Master’s degree in Vocal Studies from the Longy School of Music of Bard College and a Bachelor’s degree in Opera and Vocal Arts from the China Conservatory of Music. Displaying exceptional musical talent from an early age, she has undergone rigorous training in both piano and voice, emerging as a distinguished representative of the new generation of vocal artists.

Blending the essence of Eastern and Western musical traditions, Dieer continuously innovates in her vocal and theatrical pursuits, striving to make her mark on the global vocal stage. Her multilingual singing abilities allow her to masterfully interpret operatic works in Italian, German, French, and Chinese, demonstrating profound artistic expression. As a rising young mezzo-soprano in the world of classical music, she captivates audiences with her passionate and authentic performances on opera and concert stages worldwide.

In January 2025, she was invited to join the Asian Arts Association Singapore (Vocal & Singing).

Artistic Achievements

Dieer Hu actively participates in concerts and performances worldwide. With a solid technical foundation and deep artistic insight, she has given numerous solo recitals in the United States and played significant roles in renowned operas such as L’elisir d’amore, Die Zauberflöte, Serse and Norma. Her performances have earned high praise from both audiences and professionals.

She has won multiple international vocal competitions, including the Gold Prize at the 3rd Classical Music Award International Vocal Competition and an Excellence Award at the National Peacock Cup Vocal Competition. Her refined vocal technique and compelling stage presence have rapidly established her reputation in the international vocal scene.

She has also been invited to perform at major cultural and philanthropic events, such as the 2021 First Beijing Corporate Social Responsibility and Philanthropy Forum, the 2022 Hubei TV Spring Festival Gala for Disability Inclusion, and the 7th “Save a Life” Youth Charity Concert hosted by AYLUS in the U.S. in 2024. Through her music, she transcends linguistic and cultural boundaries, touching the hearts of audiences worldwide.

Music Education

In addition to her performing career, Dieer Hu is a dedicated educator. She teaches voice and piano at the International Music School in Maryland and runs her own private vocal studio, where she provides comprehensive training in vocal technique and performance artistry. Her teaching philosophy integrates rigorous bel canto techniques with personalized artistic expression, earning her admiration from both students and colleagues.
