Kumaravelu Shanmugavelu is a young dynamic and talented artist from India. His excellence and talent in the field of art, sculpture, and painting are worth recognizing. Professionally he is a mechanical design/ Data engineer and also a freelance artist. His favorite mediums are watercolor, acrylic, Soft pestles, and pencils. Also, He is a live sand-artist, speed painter, and sculpture artist He has performed for reputed brands and institutions like.. Caterpillar, and Quest Global.

In March 2023, he was invited to join the Asian Art Association Singapore (Painting).

Kumaravelu conveys a story to the audience through a series is sand artworks live onstage, where people can watch the artist doing her performance in a darkened room. A video camera is positioned over the Sand light box which is having glass tabletop, upon which the artist creates sand magic. Sand scattered on a light box is formed and reformed into ever-changing shapes and images that tell visually powerful stories. Those Sand images, Light, and music convey a story to audiences, with an overhead camera instantaneously projecting onto a large screen for the audience to see.

Kumaravelu's specialty is he creates a story board for his sand art performance more creatively. Basically, he is form engineering background, so he performs well even in technical programs also, like the 25th anniversary of a company in various engineering fields.
It is a practice that uses the visual and aesthetic properties of sand to create a live animated image. Sand is a fluid material and its grains settle by chance, creating living images made of a single texture. Sand art storytelling makes life and time flow, magically, in front of your eyes.
