Ladislas
Illustrator, Artist and Painter / France & Spain
ABOUT
Ladislas is a French artist based in Barcelona. Specialized in «surrealistic, pop and ecological Art». Ladislas is working both digitally and traditionally on canvas and paper. Self-taught in the field of illustration and Art, he learned to paint digitally first and used his skills acquired through digital painting illustration in his paintings on real canvas.
In parallel to his illustration job, Ladislas always dedicated time to building his personal world, following his intuition and passion for Art and interest in ecology. This research drove him into the field of contemporary Art where he carefully crafted his bold and colourful visual language imagery and universe inspired by “nature” and “pop surrealism”. His work explores some core themes like the human connection with nature and the interdependency that comes out from it.
His goal is to use his vision and art with a focus on collaborating with people, brands, and projects to raise awareness about the protection of the environment. Through Art and creativity, he believes that he can contribute in his way to act for a positive sustainable, and social change in society.
He was invited in Global Artist Committee of Asian Art Association in August 2022.
Artist Statement
My name is Ladislas, I'm a French painter & illustrator based in Barcelona, Spain.
As a creative, I believe Art has a special way to transmit messages and reach people globally no matter the age or continent they live in. I found that the topic of ecology was something i was really interested in and concerned about as a citizen. I wanted to act but was not sure how. As I was creating illustrations and painting, I noticed that the "natural world" was an endless source of inspiration and was at the core of my style especially the aquatic world.
This was when I decided I could use my creative vision and painting skills for a purpose I believe in: "Helping to raise awareness about the Protection of the environment through art and creativity." I believe that to tackle the environmental problem we must join forces. By collaborating together I think we can achieve greater results and make a powerful impact to act for a positive change is our societies. As an artist and illustrator, I made a choice to work with companies, organizations, aquariums and clients that want to put these sustainable/ecological and social values at the core of their communication. I'm mixing commercial work projects with fine art/gallery works and both of these approaches nourish one another.
My mission through my art is to operate a "re-connection between humanity and nature."
I developed my colorful and flowing "Imaginarium" made of all sorts of plants, animals, fishes... All these colors, shapes, and textures are mixed together with humans that are often included at the core of these compositions, surrounded by this lush nature.
My paintings are some kind of tribute to the treasures of the earth.
Through some surrealistic and dreamy landscapes, I want to inspire people, create a moment so they can dream, and show them in some creative ways how rich and beautiful is this planet. How important it is to protect it and leave it in a good health for future generations.
In order to be able to act at a big scale of this change, I feel people must first be able to marvel again at this world. To connect again with it and with the natural spirit that is present within ourselves.
This is what I'm proposing through my work, and I hope to connect with people that want to join forces and help me spread this message all over the world.
