Artist Statement
Philosophy is the key that unlocks the art world. The real world, where I belong, fuels me to create new ideas, thoughts, and concepts through images. I practice photographic genres including conventional, surrealism, conceptual, Nouveau Réalisme, postmodernism, contemporary, and appropriation. I feel concerned about telling stories, context, and transcendence of myself on earth, producing artworks or documentaries with sensitivity, humanity, and dignity.
Photography is an instant observational visual art and expression that can be done passively by constructing a whole cinematic set or using found images. I have been photography to express my inner self and the outer world for the last seventeen years. I convey my messages to the onlookers through my photographs and photographic artworks. The way of photographing anything changes because of the arrival of new technologies – I, as a practitioner, regularly explore other photographers’ and artists’ works and even contemporary philosophy, the technological advancements, upcoming technological possibilities or forecasts, and the dynamics of global societies – all are interconnected to my work. I get inspiration from what is happening in the world around me and historical references.
Apart from my visual creations, I write poetry and prose to find solitude in the soul and reform the soul, similarly to creating visual art. I believe in ecocentrism, which pushes me to think about other species that coexist with us.
