Nicolae Negură (1987) is a Romanian illustrator and artist currently based in Lisbon, Portugal. He completed a graphic arts degree and masters at The «George Enescu» National University of Arts in Iaşi, Romania.

His practice as a digital illustrator shifted to mixed media illustration and painting, helping him cover a diverse range of creative areas such as advertising, print, and editorial, urban art, press illustrations, and fantasy art, among others.

Nicolae’s work is a combination of strong and garish colors with a rough ink trace that resembles vintage comics. It speaks about people and about the different experiences of humankind, from banal stories of daily life to dreams and feelings.

His art has been featured in international publications and listed in Lürzer's Archive 200 Best Illustrators worldwide from 2016-2017. Nicolae counts two solo exhibitions in Lisbon and many other group exhibition participations in Portugal and Romania.

He was invited in Global Artist Committee of Asian Art Association in Aug 2022.

My work is a combination of strong and garish colors and a rough ink trace that too many people resemble vintage comics or pop-art with a strong street-art vibe.

Keeping always the same expression my work speaks about people and the different experiences of the human kind, from banal stories of daily life to dreams and wannabe superheroes or pop culture-inspired characters.
