About

Daisy Wang has been learning the zither since childhood. She graduated from the Music Department of the School of Art, Tianping College of Suzhou University of Science and Technology, and studied under Associate Professor Shalu Liu. She is a member of the Yunnan Guzheng Association and the China Children's Culture and Art Promotion Association, and has obtained the advanced guzheng teacher certification from the Central Conservatory of Music.

Since enrolling in 2020, she has held multiple positions such as the head of the Instrumental Music Ensemble of the College Students' Art Club and the president of the Youth Volunteer Association of the School of Art at Suzhou University of Science and Technology. During her school years, she achieved excellent academic results, won comprehensive scholarships on many occasions, was named an Outstanding Student Cadre in Jiangsu Province, and received the Outstanding Graduation Design award in Jiangsu Province. She participated in the "Internet +" College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Project in 2021 and published a paper titled "How to Perform the Chinese Ethnic Vocal Music Work 'The Flowing Stream' with Popular Singing Techniques" as a provincial project.

In January 2025, she was invited to join the Asian Art Association Singapore (Music).

Artist Statement

As an important part of Chinese music, the art of the guzheng adds endless charm to Chinese musical culture with its unique timbre, rich expressiveness and profound cultural deposits. Against the backdrop of the new era, we should continue to carry forward the fine traditions of the guzheng art and constantly promote its innovative development, so that this ancient art form can radiate new luster in modern society.
