Wang Wei is a famous guzheng player and educator, professor and doctoral supervisor of Shanghai Conservatory of Music; vice president of Guzheng Society of China Musicians Association; executive director and vice president of Guzheng Professional Committee of Chinese National Orchestral Society; director and director of Guzheng Professional Committee of Shanghai Musicians Association; director and artistic director of Shanghai Conservatory of Music 21 Zither Ensemble; visiting professor of Shanghai Theatre Academy; special guest of Chugye University for the Arts in Korea; thesis reviewer of the degree center of the Ministry of Education of China; technical advisor of Shanghai National Musical Instrument Factory No. 1, etc. As a famous contemporary artist in the field of guzheng, her artistic achievements have been included in the Dictionary of Chinese Musicians, the Chinese Musicians Directory, the Chinese Music Dictionary - Guzheng Volume, etc.

As an educator, Professor Wang Wei regularly conducts master classes and lectures at home and abroad. In the past thirty years of teaching, he has trained a large number of outstanding guzheng professionals at home and abroad, including Liu Le, Yuan Li, Xie Tao, Deng Haiqiong, Fang Yu, Ren Zhou Yang, Chen Jue, Ni Lei, Tan Yu Sha, Duan Lian, Wang Xi, Lu Sha Sha, Hu Ting Ting, Chen Su Hui, Lu Xiaozhi, Lei Huan Ran, He Yi, Su Wen Yang, Zhao Mo Jia, Susan, Cao Lina, Wang Jing, Zhang Yu, Wang Yuting, Wu Rong, Zhou Shiyao, etc. He has also performed in "Golden Bell Award", "Wenhua Art Academy Award", "CCTV", "Shanghai Spring" and other competitions. She has become the backbone of many professional music colleges and art groups at home and abroad, and has made positive contributions to the spread and development of guzheng art at home and abroad.
Professor Wang Wei has been awarded the "Gardener's Award" by the Ministry of Culture, the "Excellent Teacher Award" by the National Baogang Education Foundation, the Shanghai Artistic Talent Award, the 14th "Shanghai Spring" Outstanding Performance Award (the highest award), and the first "Shanghai Spring" Outstanding Performance Award. In 1991 and 2002, she published the first recordings of the traditional zheng, wire zheng and 12-measure butterfly zheng.
