Xu He studied the pipa at the age of three and from the age of five with the famous pipa virtuoso and educator Prof. Liu Gang. In 2021, he was introduced by the Wuhan Conservatory of Music as a high-level talent to teach in the Chinese Music Department. He is a member of the Chinese Musicians Association, a director of the Pipa Society of the Chinese Musicians Association, a member of the Chinese Society of Folk Orchestra, a national cadre of young and middle-aged pipa players, and an excellent instructor of the National Pipa Competition.

In July 2023, he was invited to join the Asian Art Association Singapore (Music) and be judge of World Pipa Competition 2023.

Individual and chamber music programs have won gold and silver in top domestic competitions, and the awards are as follows:
In 2009, he won the Silver Prize in the Pipa Youth Group of the CCTV National Instrumental Music Competition;
In 2011, he was awarded the "Gold Prize" in the Youth Professional Group of the First "Dunhuang Cup" National Youth Pipa Competition;
In 2012, he won the "Gold Prize" of the 4th National Youth National Instrumental Competition of Pipa (plucked instrument group), which was awarded by the Ministry of Culture of China;
In 2012, he was awarded the "Gold Prize" in the Professional A Group of the First Liaoyuan Pipa International Competition (the first prize).
In 2014, "Gold Prize" in the Youth Professional Group of the 2nd "Dunhuang Cup" National Youth Pipa Competition.
In 2012, "Gold Prize" of the Fourth National Youth Ethnic Instrumental Competition for Small Ethnic Instrumental Ensembles, Wenhua Arts School Award of the Ministry of Culture;
In 2013, the group won the "Bronze Award" of the Ninth China Music Golden Bell Award.
In 2014, the group won the "Silver Prize" in the Fifth National Youth Ethnic Instrumental Competition of the Ministry of Culture's Wenhua Arts School Award.

Xu He has participated in the preparation of "henyang Conservatory of Music Social Art Level Examination National Common Teaching Material - Pipa", "Pipa Repertoire Collection", "Pipa Examination Collection" of Hubei Musicians Association as the deputy editor-in-chief, "Pipa Tune" of the scientific research project of the National Art Fund, and "Chinese Pipa - Wang School of Chinese Pipa", a project of the National Art Fund for the cultivation of artistic talents in the year of 2022, which is a project of the National Art Fund. Chinese Pipa - Wang School Inheritance Performance and Theory Talent Cultivation Program". he has visited the United States, France, South Korea, Japan and other countries and regions, and has been invited to participate in the Harbin Summer Music Festival, the Central Conservatory of Music Plucked Art Week, the Spring and Autumn Exhibition of the National Theatre Schools, and the National Art Fund Tour. He has premiered many chamber music and concerto works, such as "Eight Forms", "Ooluguya", "The Tune of Ta Ling", "Bodhi", "The Past of Jute", "Random Thoughts", and "The Sound of Music in Guzi", etc. He has also been invited to perform at the Harbin Summer Festival. In terms of teaching and training, the students under his guidance have achieved good results in various competitions such as Dunhuang Cup and Liaoyuan Cup.
