Artist Statement

A lifelong relationship with art: My first dialogue with the world

I started drawing when I was very young. At that time, I didn’t know what “art” was—I simply loved using lines and colors to express the world I saw and the imagination in my heart. Drawing became my earliest way of communicating with the world. It didn’t need translation or explanation—just a pencil in hand, and emotions could flow.

From that early age, art planted a seed in my life, which slowly took root, sprouted, and grew into what it is today.

Industrial Design background: Finding balance between logic and beauty

In university, I chose to study Industrial Design. This added a layer of logic and structure to my artistic path.

Design taught me to think through systems and logic, and it revealed the deep connection between art and functionality. I realized that beauty isn’t just visual pleasure—it can respond to human needs and enhance everyday life.

This experience changed the way I approach creation, helping me retain a sense of “ordered thinking” within artistic freedom.

As a children’s art studio director: I believe every child is a born artist

Now, as the director of a children’s art studio, I spend my days with kids and have become more convinced that the goal of art education is not to teach children to “draw realistically,” but to preserve their innate imagination, sensitivity, and creativity.

Children’s art is the truest form of expression—free from rules and unaffected by standards. They tell stories with colors and share feelings with lines.

My role is more of a guide—someone who explores and discovers with them, helping them find their own voice.

I also integrate industrial design thinking into my teaching—encouraging children to start from a theme, observe, think, and solve problems hands-on.
Through this, they develop observation, imagination, and independent thinking—skills far more valuable than simply producing a “realistic” drawing.

Art is a state of being

To me, art is not just a profession or a skill. It’s a way of seeing the world—a state of life.
It constantly leads me to explore, to express, and to connect with others.
And I hope that through my experiences and work, I can share the power of beauty, creativity, and freedom with more people.
