About

Zhang Yangloucai, male, born in November 1981, is from Renshou, Sichuan Province. He is the vice president of the Sichuan Sculpture Association, the deputy director of the Sculpture Art Committee of the Chengdu Artists Association, the president of the Chengdu Urban Aesthetics Association and the deputy director of the Humanistic Art Special Committee, as well as the director and associate professor of the Art and Technology Development Center of Chengdu Neusoft University.

Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture from Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, Master of Landscape Architecture from Sichuan University, and currently a doctoral candidate in Landscape Architecture at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.

He has founded multiple laboratories and research centers and obtained the National Urban Sculpture Creation and Design Qualification Certificate. He has led and participated in 7 provincial-level scientific research projects, published 2 monographs and textbooks, and authored over 10 core and provincial-level journal papers. He has held 2 joint exhibitions and been selected for over 50 important international, national and provincial joint exhibitions. He has won over 20 awards, including the Excellent Award of the 19th China Changchun (Erdao District) International Sculpture Invitational Exhibition and the First Prize of the Digital Sculpture in the Professional Group of the First "Chengyu Cup" Digital Art Works Competition. Additionally, he has led the design of over 100 public art engineering projects.

In July 2023, he was invited to join the Asian Art Association Singapore (Traditional Sculpture).

Artist Statement

As the vice president of the Sichuan Sculpture Association and the deputy director of the Sculpture Art Committee of the Chengdu Artists Association, I have rich experience in art organization. Serving as the president of the Chengdu Urban Aesthetics Association and the deputy director of the Humanistic Art Special Committee of the Chengdu Urban Aesthetics Association, my understanding and exploration of urban aesthetics have been continuously deepened. At the same time, I also serve as the director of the Art and Technology Development Center of Chengdu Neusoft University of Information, which gives me the opportunity to combine art with technology and promote the innovative development of the art field.

During my academic career, I have published numerous core and provincial-level papers and participated in several provincial-level scientific research projects. In terms of sculpture creation, my works have been selected for exhibitions many times and have won multiple awards. As a project leader, I have completed the design and construction of nearly 100 public art engineering projects. Among them, the large-scale sculpture landscape park "Su Dongpo" in Qingyang District, Chengdu City, was awarded the "First Prize" for community renovation in Qingyang District in 2018.

I actively pursue the depth and breadth of my academic studies. In 2019, I participated in the "First Digital Sculpture Training Class" taught by the renowned digital sculptor Zhang Sheng and obtained the "National Art Fund - Historical and Cultural Village Design Talent Training" project completion certificate. Additionally, in 2018, I attended the "Let's Play with Colors - 2018 Zhongxiang Metal Chemical Coloring Series Training Class" and the national "Urban Sculpture Engineering Technology Regulations Continuing Education Training", and received the corresponding completion certificates.

In terms of teaching, I pursued a master's degree in landscape architecture at the College of Architecture and Environment of Sichuan University and have been teaching at the Digital Art Department of Chengdu Neusoft Institute of Information until now. During my teaching career, I established the Basic Sculpture Laboratory, the Sculpture Art Research Laboratory, the Digital Sculpture Research Center, and the Art and Technology Development Center, dedicated to cultivating students' artistic creation abilities and enhancing their understanding of the integration of art and technology.

Artistic Achievement

March 2022 - May 2023: Hosted the exhibition design and construction of the Art Museum for the 31st World University Games in Chengdu.
2023: The works "Rapidly Passing Youth Series 1-5" were selected for the "31st World University Games Art Exhibition".
January - March 2023: The work "Struggle" was selected for the zodiac exhibition hosted by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.
November 2022: The work "Space Series" participated in the Future Concept Design IOO Digital Art Exhibition hosted by Xu Liaoyuan.
December 2022: The work "Advance! Advance!! Advance!!!" was selected for the "Shenyang Anti-American Aid Korea Theme Sculpture Image Creative Collection Activity" hosted by the China Arts and Crafts Society.

2014-2016: Visited Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, Singapore, Thailand, Egypt and other countries to study sculpture, architecture, landscape and museums. After returning to China, conducted extensive comparative research and applied it to social projects and professional teaching.

2006: The series "Fleeting Youth" was selected for the National Exhibition of Outstanding Graduates' Works in Sculpture - Beijing Exhibition, and was shortlisted for the "50 Outstanding Works" for the national tour - collected by the Chinese Sculpture Magazine and placed as an outstanding urban sculpture in Xiamen City.

2004: The work "Olympic Wind" was selected for the annual exhibition of the Sculpture Department of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute and was collected by the famous oil painter and president Luo Zhongli, and permanently placed in the campus of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, Chongqing.
