Zhao Xiang has various sorts of media experience in China. He once worked as the investigative reporter at Department of In-depth Investigation of Beijing News(2019). He also participate in the establishment and launch of Jiupai News as part of founding team in Changjiang Daily(2020). He has worked as the investigative reporter in the Department of Social of China News Weekly(2021). Now, he is a freelance journalist.

He was invited in Global Artist Committee of Asian Art Association in May 2022.

In 2022, he won the Bronze medal in the Breaking News category of the Asian Press Photo held by the Asian Art Association for his photograph of the 2021 Henan floods, "Sea of Flowers". It is the only Chinese photojournalist to win the award that year.

He created the "Front-line Reporter Assistance Group in Wuhan", to help reporters from 39 media with thousands of personal protective equipment(PPE) and food, during 76 days of lockdown in Wuhan.

He created "Flood Disaster Interconnection Group" to coordinate information and resettlement housing for reporters trapped on the front lines during 2021 Henan Floods.
