About
Zhu Haibin is the Co-founder and Director of Teaching at VisionChinese Academy in Singapore. He previously served as a Senior Education Officer with the Ministry of Education (MOE), Singapore, and a Lecturer at the National Institute of Education (NIE), Nanyang Technological University. Since joining MOE in 2007, Mr. Zhu has built a distinguished career in education, amassing extensive experience in teaching and curriculum development. He is currently pursuing a PhD at NIE, focusing on the professional development of Chinese language teachers in educational technology.
Throughout his career, Mr. Zhu has held key positions, including Chinese Language Teacher at Crescent Girls’ School, Subject Head of the Chinese Language Department at Nanyang Girls’ High School, and Curriculum Development Officer for MOE’s CODE MTLB. He played an integral role in the development of Singapore’s secondary Chinese language textbook series Chinese Alive and its accompanying teaching resources. In addition to classroom teaching, Mr. Zhu has actively championed school-based curriculum design, the integration of information technology in teaching, and the exploration of mobile learning models.
He has presented over 20 papers at international academic conferences, covering topics such as Chinese language education, gamified teaching, and multimedia-assisted learning, with many of his works published in renowned academic journals. Mr. Zhu is also the author of several educational guidebooks and has contributed numerous cultural essays and educational commentaries to publications such as Lianhe Zaobao.
An award-winning educator and innovator, Mr. Zhu is a lifetime member of the Singapore Association for Artificial Intelligence in Language Education. He holds leadership roles in organizations such as the Jinjiang Association and various educational bodies, advocating for the sustainable development of Chinese language education through the integration of local and global perspectives.
In December 2024, he was invited to join the Asian Arts Association Singapore (Language Teaching and Literary Communication) and will serve as a judge for the 18th United Chinese Literary Award, representing Singapore and Malaysia.
