overview
The pipa is one of the most popular Chinese instruments and has been played for almost two thousand years in China. Several related instruments are derived from the pipa, including the Japanese biwa and Korean bipa in East Asia, and the Vietnamese đàn tỳ bà in Southeast Asia.
In order to pass on and promote Chinese traditional culture worldwide, the Asian Art Association Singapore is organizing the World Pipa Competition 2023, inviting renowned pipa players and professors from all over the world to serve as judges. We look forward to the gathering of pipa participants from all over the world. The winners of the competition will receive trophies, medals and certificates, as well as a specially written commentary from the judges, and the outstanding entries will be displayed on various platforms of the Asian Art Association Singapore.
