Every face is an unfinished story; every gaze is an echo of the soul. Portraiture is a kind of painting art, with the main purpose of expressing the portrait of a person. Portraiture can show the character, temperament and connotation of a person by depicting the facial features, posture, expression, etc. Portraiture has important artistic value and appreciation value. It can serve as a witness to history, recording the appearance and mental outlook of a person; it can also serve as a treasure of art, showing the artist's superb painting skills and artistic attainments.
In 2025, the Singapore World Portrait Painting Competition, with the theme of "Faces of the World", sincerely invites artists from all over the world to use their brushes to record the unique temperament and emotional moments of the characters, and capture the most real and moving light and shadow of "people".
Organized by the Asian Art Association Singapore, this international art event is committed to promoting the development and exchange of portrait art, providing a stage for artists around the world to show themselves and tell stories of characters. Whether it is a weathered old man, a vigorous teenager, or a self in the mirror, each image blooms its own light on the canvas.
The competition has several awards, including Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze and Special Awards. Some outstanding works will have the opportunity to be exhibited in Singapore and around the world at the annual exhibition of the Asian Art Association Singapore.
We believe that portraits are not only the reproduction of faces, but also the resonance of souls. Use your brush to let the world see the warmth of the characters and the depth of emotions.
Join us and use a portrait to make the world come alive because of you.
