ABOUT

Johan Papin was born in Nantes on the west coast of France.

After graduating college with a Master of Fine Arts learning animation at the Pivaut school he collaborated with various animation studios working on kids animation shows ( backgrounds, character design, animation, compositing, and finally directing...)

With this experience in hand he decided to start a career as a freelancer and created the collective MessieursDame. Under the roofs of the 6th district of Paris, surrounded with talented artists coming from animated movies and illustration and working on various individual and collective projects it was the perfect environment to develop his career as an illustrator and create his own artistic vision

For a few years he enjoyed practicing this art he loves from Montreal, a new place of adventure and beautiful landscapes.

Today he is back to his hometown he tries to convey in his work is love for people and nature in his work collaborating with clients locally and around the world (US, UK, Germany, Canada... )

He was awarded in 2020 by the Los Angeles Society of illustration award and Applied Art award.

He was invited in Global Artist Committee of Asian Art Association in August 2022.
