PREFACE

In 2020, in response to the global epidemic of COVID-19, the Asian Art Association of Singapore organized the first "World Charity Painting Competition". Thanks to the joint efforts of humans, several countries have overcome the virus, removed their masks and returned to normal life.

In February 2022, Russia defied the opposition of the international community and brazenly invaded Ukraine, causing huge loss of life and property and indelible pain to the Ukrainian people. For this reason, the Asian Art Association, in collaboration with the Singapore Red Cross Society, is organizing the "Love and Peace: World Charity Painting Competition" to collect paintings from art lovers around the world to express support for the brave people of Ukraine and to show their desire for world peace. A portion of the entry fee for the competition will be donated to the Ukraine Relief Fund of Singapore Red Cross, which will help Ukrainian refugees overcome their plight.

When Ukraine, which is resisting aggression for freedom, meets Taiwan's Freedom Square, what wonderful sparks will be produced? In January 2023, the Asian Art Association will hold the "Love and Peace: World Charity Painting Exhibition" at Zhongzheng Gallery in Taipei. It is especially meaningful to hold the "Support Ukraine" exhibition near Freedom Square in Taipei. We invite art lovers from all over the world to submit their works and participate. All exhibited works will receive a certificate of participation from the Asian Art Association for permanent collection.
