ABOUT

Lina Kusaite is an illustrator and eco-art designer based in Belgium. Her professional life was influenced by a mix of Post Soviet, Dutch and French education systems in the Arts and Fashion Design disciplines.

After the studies, Lina was invited to join trans-disciplinary cultural organization ‘FoAM’ in Brussels, Belgium. During her collaboration with FoAM, Lina gained experience in textile design, illustration, concept art for game design and workshop facilitation. After 10 years of working within this organization, Lina chose to focus on her own creativity.

Her main source of creative activities is Nature and it's ecosystems. It was mainly influence by Japanese biologist M. Fukuoka and his book, ‘The One-Straw Revolution’. It brought her to another level of understanding about the complexity and beauty of natures worlds in the relationship with human-kind. It inspired Lina to express this connection in the form of illustrations, workshops, eco-art activities. And through that, to inform people about the social life of plants and undeniable need for humans to connect with wilderness.

Much of Linas art work deals with the subject matter of fantasy and nature in commercial illustration as well as in concept art. In her drawings, Lina explores different styles and approach, but always with great attention to details and storytelling behind. She expresses her ideas and stories in watercolors mixed with pencils and markers. Some years ago, she also started experimenting with collage. The final touches are always done in Photoshop.

She was invited in Global Artist Committee of Asian Art Association in August 2022.
