Finding placidity

Ivary Yang XuanYi, Singapore

I choose the word placidity to describe the blue background and the bird. Looking at the colour blue makes me feel at peace which was why i choose it as my background. Everything in black and white repreents the wars we fought in order to see peace between the chaos of the world . Now that the world is more at peace, i hope we can maintain this way. Our past mistakes have served as a reminder of the many wars we fought. We are smarter and. more experienced which will help maintain peace between countries. (Let Colour Soar, SG)

Love and Peace

Hyeon-Seo Kwon, South Korea

This piece was done with acrylic on canvas. Centered around 'Love and Peace,' the work was inspired by the fragile nature of world peace, vague and almost delusional. I intentionally utilized dark colors such as black and red to convey the crawling threat meant to strangle the means of love and peace. However, the focus is on the hands desperate to stretch themselves towards the sky. Above them flies a dove, a shared symbol of peace. The reach toward the dove highlights the ultimate but almost unrealizable goal—peace and love—framing the distant yet desirous nature of the theme.

A matter of luck

Jiang Su Yang, Singapore

This art piece depicts two children with different lives. One with her living at the brink of danger, the other in a place of growth and opportunity. They, like all of us do not have a chance to decide how they would live. Children do not deserve pain and suffering that the world brings. If one can have love and peace, why bring war and hatred to the other? The tain in the picture repesent two different ideas such as, a journey to the new, or the escape to safety. The different flowers represent their emotional states. The buidings represent the type of shelter that they were given. I pray that there will be a day, where no one needs to suffer from their country's doings.(Let Colour Soar)

Journey to Love and Peace

Yoojin Lee, South Korea

The war must stop in order for the wellbeing of humans and to restore peace to the world. The recent war between Russia and Ukraine caused significant damages to both of the countries, and many people are facing miserable consequences. In my work, I used watercolor, pen, and collage in order to depict people’s effort to achieve love and peace by escaping from the catastrophe. The railroad that leads people from the cliff to the sky and the flowers growing from the cracked building represent people’s hope for peace. (Art East, KR)

Flowering Rifle

Siwoo Park, South Korea

I wanted to deliver the message that love of humanity and peace can stop the war by portraying a scene of a sunflower tightening up and destroying the gun. In order to emphasize the magnitude of the war and its consequences, the gun was portrayed in a bigger scale in the center of the picture. Ukrainian colors were used for the ribbon to support their courageous actions. Initially watercolor was used for the base, colored pencil for the details, acrylic paint was used for emphasis. Peace and Love

Wang Yu, China

The main content of my painting is peace and love. These hands separate war and peacethe hand raises up the love which is a peace world of all the animals and the thing flowing down is the war and the thing that is not peace. We can also see this throughout the background color of the top and the bottom part. The color is very bright and attractive from the top but on the opposite hand, the color below is very dark and it makes people feel loneliness and isolation. (Let Colour Soar, SG)

Aftermath

Yeseo Nam, South Korea

In a nutshell, I’ve painted the initial background using watercolor: covering the entire canvas with grey. Then I drew certain figures separately by hand, cut them, and assembled them into one drawing. Not only the hand drawn ones, but I also printed out figures and embellished them by drawing over with a colored pencil for the sake of making it sure to blend with the overall atmosphere. Not to mention I have also congregated them with the rest of the hand drawn figures into one place. (Art East, KR)

Humanity

Sheralyn Yew Jia Zhen, Singapore

My artwork represents the younger generation stepping forward to promote and maintain peace around the world. At times, political adults fail to see the right from wrong hence why we as the younger generation feels the need to voice out opinion to ensure the adults are listening. If the youngsters can see the right from wrong, voicing out thoughts migjt be more impactful as it will help the adults realise that their decisions and actions are affecting the future generations. Hence, they have to choose other alternatives. I hope that the courage shown by the younger generation help open the mind of the adults and have a sense of consciousness again for our earth and humanity.(Let Colour Soar, SG)

War and Peace

Chen Zhi Xuan Bella, China

During war, soldiers lost their comrades shown in my work below where he had to drag the body of his comrades away from the fire. On the other side, those are the ruins after the war. On top of the picture, it is a peace time that the soldiers has worked hard on. The modern buildings above shows a huge contrast with the ruins below to portray the outcome of war. The small chicks ans white dove represents the beginning of a new era where peace outweigh the chaos. We should cherish our peaceful life and never forget the horror of war. War has left thousands of people without homes and family. This caused painful memories to everyone especially the soldiers who fought hard to protect their country. Thus, we should always remember the heroes who sacrificed their live for the peace we have now. (Let Colour Soar, SG)

They too, deserves a nice and peaceful home to live in so that they will be able to grow into a kind and lovely adult. Freedom and Peace

The bird of prey soaring on the wings, shuttling in the smoke filled sky, it is racing with death, only to find the freedom of the heart. War is a stumbling block that destroys human civilization. May the world be free of war forever, love and peace coexist, and may the sunshine of peace shine on the whole earth! (Tree Art, SG)

Together we achieve peace!

Huan Xiao Yu, Singapore

With the pollution, war and virus that has been happening throughout many generations, it is about time we reflect on our actions that has caused this chaos. We should ponder on our actions and do our best to not repeat the same mistake as the older generations where war and different viruses has spread around the world, causing innocent lifes to end. We, as the current and future generation should do better and make create a better pathway for peace and harmony to be obtained. We should path the way for a better future and achieve together as one united world. (Let Colour Soar, SG)

I want to bring out the contrast of a man's life when at war and during peace, while working on this artwork. We often see the citizens of the countries as victims during war, but neglected that the soldiers themselves are victims of war too. The dove symbolised the end of the war, while the land filled with white poppy flowers and two fluttering butterflies to represent joy in peace & harmony. Back in the Peace

Michelle Zeng, China

In this drawing I was inspired by the hippie fashion and their ‘love and peace’ movement. I added the ‘love and peace’ sign as an element to every icon in the drawing. The colours and tone used are also bright and diverse, which can resemble the beauty of peace. The hippie style may recall the conflicts between countries that the human race had faced in the last century and how we dissolved them slowly. Therefore, the hippie icons may call peace to fall again, like colourful rainbows after the heavy rain. (Tree Art, SG)
