ABOUT
Catur Agung Nugroho is a young artist born in Wonosobo, Central Java. Catur is the 4th child of 4 siblings. He has had a hobby of painting since he was a child and then decided to continue his education in painting at the Yogyakarta Institute of the Arts in 2018 until now.
His tendency to play with fire from childhood and his interest in processing and exploring various materials greatly influenced his work. The sensation of burning material with fire becomes its aesthetic value to produce an artistic effect.
From his exploratory and abstract tendencies, he often talks about the closest things in his life, be it hope, prayer, values, learning, support, or self-reflection media. He hopes that his work can become a medium of interaction between him, his work, and other people.
In January 2021, he was invited in Global Artist Committee of Asian Art Association.
