ABOUT
In 2003, Huang Jinbao, a steel worker in Taiwan, gave up his comfortable job and led his family of four to ride bicycles. In 400 days, he covered mountains and rivers, rode through extreme heat and cold, and rode bicycles around the world across Asia, Europe and North America.
After circling the earth and seeing countless beautiful scenery, He deeply feel that the most beautiful place on earth is really in Taiwan!
Back to Taiwan, he started cycling around the island, helping his partners from all over the world, including President Ma Ying-jeou and Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je, to interpret their dreams.
Ma Ying-Jeou rode from north to south
In 2007, , before Ma Ying-jeou join Taiwan's Presidential Election, held a "Youth Bicycle Forward" event under the leadership of Huang Jinbao.
Ma vehicles travel through 18 counties and cities in western Taiwan, arriving on May 20, at the end of the southernmost Fugui Cape Lighthouse. The total length is 618.9 km.
Mr Ma's 10-day tour will focus on local culture, history and environment, regional development and visiting specific people to show his love for life and nature.
Cycling around Taiwan
After cycling around the world, Huang Jinbao found that the most beautiful place in the world is really in Taiwan. After returning to Taiwan, he began to promote cycling around the island
Over the course of nine days and eight nights, participants will pass through cities, farmland, mountains, coasts and cliffs in what will be one of life's most memorable journeys.
The travel is clockwise. It is from Taipei, Taoyuan, Hsinchu and Miaoli, Taichung, Changhua, Yunlin, Chiayi, Tainan, Kaohsiung, Pingtung, Hualien, Su Hua highway, Yilan, Keelung. Then we will back to Taipei. The total distance is about 939 kilometers.
Cycling Around Taiwan Island has been linked to climbing Yushan Mountain and Swimming across Sun Moon Lake, known as the "Three Feats of Taiwan".
