Ewen Chiu is a former senior dancer of Cloud Gate Dance Group. After retirement, she served as an education and promotion specialist of Cloud Gate Foundation and adjuvant assistant professor of Dance Department of Taipei University of the Arts.

Born in Chiayi, Taiwan, Ewen studied performance at the Dance School of the National Academy of Arts. She trained in ballet, contemporary dance and Chinese dance. She joined Cloud Gate in 1994. She graduated from the dance department of the National Academy of Arts in 1994 and joined Cloud Gate in the same year. In 2014, she was transferred to Tamshui Cloud Gate Theatre as a lecturer in educational promotion, and served as adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Dance at National Taipei University of the Arts and the Department of Performing Arts at Xingwu University of Science and Technology.

During her stay in Cloud Gate, she received training in Oriental body parts such as Taijiquan and martial arts, and performed solo dances for many important works of Cloud Gate. Most of the performances are "charming" characters, such as the lady in white in "spring breeze" in "bamboo dream", the maid in "dream of red chamber", the little lady in "dream land", the green snake in "legend of white snake", and the little chun in "shining sun still shining" in "Chen yingzhen landscape".

As a professional dancer for 20 years, she has participated in the performances of important works of Cloud Gate for many times. Her solo dances in "Rice Wo", "If Not for You", "The Tract in the House", "Listen to the River", "White Ⅱ", "Wild Grass", and "The Tradition" in "The Tradition" are impressive. Hong Kong choreographer Lai Haining's "A Woman's Mind - Pink Life" and British choreographer Akaron's "Lost Shadows" also have outstanding solo performances. He has also collaborated with Taiwan choreographers Wu Guozhu and Liu Guanxiang.

At present, she is a solo dancer, working with artists in different fields, and acting as motion designer for film, television and theater performances for many times. In the field of performing arts, more possibilities of practicing dance can be promoted through creation and education.

In March 2021, Ewen Chiu was invited to join Global Artists Committee (Dance) of the Asian Art Association.
