Xue Shuang was born in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, China.

She graduated from Shenyang Conservatory of Music Dance School in high school and Xinghai Conservatory of Music in university. She majored in Chinese classical dance and folk dance.

During her studies, she has performed many roles in dance productions, and won the first prize in the Lu Yi Cup in a solo dance competition, as well as the gold medal in the Liaoning Provincial Dance Competition. She has performed in such dance works as "Feng shu yu yi", "Hai xia qing", "Xiao Wei - Xiao Wei", "Dian jiang chun" and "Fang Chun Xing".

She was invited in Global Artist Committee of Asian Art Association in August 2021.

During 2020, she came into contact with Lingnan culture through her participation in the dance "Looking at the Tide of the Sea" and gained an in-depth understanding of the culture of the boat-dwelling families under the Lingnan culture. "As a unique branch of the Han Chinese people, the Lingnan boat-dwelling family is hidden in the ocean, with generations of ancestors using boats as rooms, the sea as fields, and fishing as their livelihood, and battling the wind and waves for a long time, forming a unique culture and way of life. Her work "Looking out to sea" elaborates on the characteristics and origins of the boat-dwelling culture, as well as the artistic values presented by the fusion of boat-dwelling culture and dance works, and finally elaborates on the inheritance and development of boat-dwelling culture under the impact of the times. It is hoped that more dancers will strengthen the promotion and protection of the Lingnan boat-dwelling dance. Promote the further prosperity of folk dance.
