Mirjam Siim is a freelance artist, born in Estonia, and now living in Porto. Mirjam Siim has exhibited work in Estonia, Russia, Portugal, and the UK and has won various prices, for example Ashurst Emerging Artist Prize 2016 and Põlvepikuraamatu contest (picture book contest organized in Estonia).

She holds a degree from Tartu Art College, one of the best art universities in Estonia, which included a year at the University of Porto, Portugal. She has worked as an animator and print-maker and has taken part of a wide range of creative projects.

At the moment she is working as a freelance artist, focusing mainly on illustration and painting, but also enjoys other artistic assignments that she stumbles upon.

She was invited in Global Artist Committee of Asian Art Association in August 2022.

I enjoys working in watercolor, because it is the medium that allows the most fluidity. Allowing for improvisation and intuition in my artistic process, my works arrive naturally. I'm often inspired by moments from my own life - conversations had, books read, or memories shared. Centering around female subjects, my paintings are both playful and haunting, each suggesting a clear story and conveying a warmth of emotion.
