Born into an artistic family where her father, brother and sister are artists, her love for painting arose very early. After graduating with a Bachelor of Graphic Design from the University of Industrial Fine Arts, Tao Huong worked as a graphic designer at the Education Publishing House of Vietnam for 20 years. After that, she moved to work as a lecturer and was appointed as the Head of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Hoa Binh University. Currently, she continues to teach here. As a lecturer of Fine Arts, she always spreads her passion for painting to her students.

Ever since she worked as a graphic designer, she soon found a passion in painting and has pursued it for 22 years now. Stemming from a love for beauty, passion for art, love of romance, Tao Huong pursues a surrealistic romantic style. She composed many large-format portraits, semi-abstract landscape paintings. Huong has participated in many domestic and international exhibitions in India, Indonesia, South Korea, Germany, Malaysia, Japan, China etc. Her audience is often attracted by her attractive, colorful, soft and feminine painting style. The vibrance in color and the softness can be considered her biggest strengths.

She was invited in Global Artist Committee of Asian Art Association in Feb 2021.

RECOGNITION

Tao Huong has received comments from renown art critics and painters about her paintings. Some of them are displayed below:

Truong Be, former President of Hue University of the Arts once commented: “Tao Huong paints a rich variety of topics that bespeaks our contemporary life. She is specifically fond of portrait paintings, especially those of women. The portraits usually manifests many different perspectives, reveals a clear yet ambiguous personality and a deep inner mind, prompting her audience to reflect on the philosophy of life. In addition to portraits, she also develops herself in still-life paintings. These still-life paintings follow realism and are closely arranged in a subtle harmony in color. Every still-life painting by her is clear and sexy, entailing the soft, delicate, yet vivid appeal of oil paint. It resembles her soul which is sentimental and beauty-loving.”

According to Martin A. Bradley, a British art critic, author of 7 books about artists around the world: “Tao Huong delights in painting nature as well as engagingly colourful portraits. Her landscapes are full of energy and movement, yet each capturing a different moment and a different hue, reminiscent of the work done by Claude Monet with haystacks and the different aspects of light on Rouen Cathedral. Tao Huong’s works give depth for the viewer to sink into. In each of the paintings the hues are carefully balanced for harmony. Her landscapes always have me transfixed by its intriguing perspective, and balance of warm and cooler colours.”
