Wan Jianping, Hong Kong tenor singer, founded the Hong Kong City Choir in June 1999, and held the "Wan Jianping Solo Concert" at the Concert Hall of the Hong Kong City Hall on May 6, 2006. Now he is the Hong Kong City Choir Music director and conductor and music director of the group choir.

He joined Global Artists Committee of Asian Art Association in 2019.

MUSIC CAREER

Wan Jianping studied western opera and vocal music with Mr. Tan Bingruo, a well-known professor at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. He was admitted to Shanghai Normal University Conservatory of Music, and learned vocal music with Professor Zhu Xijing. Later, he went to Canada to study at the Royal College of Music in Toronto. He studied vocal music with the famous artistic director Braham Goldhamer, and studied choral conducting. Will and starring in the opera "Turandot". He is the vocal director and conductor of Toronto's oldest Chinese Toronto Choir.
Wan Jianping moved to Hong Kong in 1998 and was employed by the Music Department of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. In 2011 at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, the "Asian Three Tenor Concert" with the famous tenor of South Korea and Japan achieved unprecedented success. Subsequently, the Guangdong, Hong Kong and Taiwan four tenor performed in the Shenzhen Concert Hall and achieved great success. CCTV reported. Wan Jianping is an outstanding chorus conductor. He has his unique insights into the diverse combination of the voices of each part of the chorus. The choir he led has repeatedly achieved success in international competitions. The "Hong Kong City Choir" founded by him won the Gold Medal in the Olympic International Choir Competition, and the "Hong Kong City Youth Choir" won the Gold Award in the Macau International Competition hosted by the International Choral Federation. The league had three firsts.

Wan Jianping is also currently the art director and conductor of the Inner Mongolian Youth Choir of the Inner Mongolia Song and Dance Theatre and an adjunct professor at the Music College of Shanghai Normal University.

HONG KONG CITY CHOIR

Hong Kong City Choir is a choir group registered with the Hong Kong Government. It was founded in 1999 by the current music director and conductor, Mr. Wan Jianping. It currently has more than 80 members. The members have all received vocal training at various levels. , Classical to contemporary choral musical works.

The Hong Kong City Choir has hosted and participated in nearly 2004 local music events in the past years. It has been invited to participate in various domestic performances, including being invited by the Hong Kong Tourism Board to sing at the "Hong Kong Colorful Winter Festival" for five consecutive years. At the invitation of the LCSD to organize free entertainment programmes in various communities. In XNUMX, the French "Musician Day" hosted by the French Consulate in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong French Cultural Association, the LCSD and Fringe Club was invited to perform concerts on two occasions.
