(Tree Art, SG)

Egypt, a country which has seven cultural world heritage site is a place definitely worth to visit. Egypt is also considered as one of the oldest country in the world and the first Egyptians were farmers about 8000 years ago. The Egyptians were probably the first to tame cats. They used them to catch mice in grain stores. In ancient Egypt, they worshipped the god of cats, called Bastet. Egyptians believed cats were magical creatures and is capable of bringing good luck to the people who housed them. Egyptian writing was made up of lots of pictures called hieroglyphs. These hieroglyphs were painted on a tomb and they are spells to protect a dead person. The drawing also shows the young King Tutankhamen who ruled Egypt when he was only 12 years old. He loved playing a board game called Senet. After he died, the board was buried with him in his tomb. It is a beautiful set, made of white ivory and a black wood. I am hoping to visit Egypt very soon. (Let Colour Soar, SG)
