ABOUT

Andi Acho Mallaena / Indonesian painter and sculptor originally from Bugis in South Sulawesi-Indonesia. Andi Acho is the first of four children, his interest in the art world has existed since he was in elementary school which he started by drawing his favorite cartoon character. After graduating from high school, he wanted to continue his study at an art college in the city of Makassar, but his parents directed him to major in biology. And finally, he completing his study as a bachelor of biology. After that he continued his studies in Yogyakarta without informing his parents to prove that the artistic talent God had given him would not be in vain.

Currently he has earned the title of master of art and still active in exhibiting both domestically and abroad. He continues to progress in various studies as a reference in creating art works by combining the two scientific elements he has. According to him, the cross-discipline between biology and art will produce something very different, therefore the visuals that he produces always contain elements of biology. His media experiments continue to make him create new innovations in expressing the visuals in his art work. He hopes that he can give more contribution to fine arts, especially the Asian region.

He was invited in Global Artist Committee of Asian Art Association in Dec 2020.
