ABOUT

Harsha Vadlamani is an independent photojournalist and filmmaker whose work explores the many inequalities that influence migration, health and the environment across India. His work has appeared in National Geographic, The New York Times Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, GEO, Al Jazeera, Le Monde, Financial Times Magazine, Rest of World, CNN, BBC, Scientific American, Foreign Affairs, Neue Zürcher Zeitung, Nature and Wired, among other publications.

A chemical engineer by education, he began his photography career in 2008 by working on several commissioned projects documenting communities in HIV/AIDS interventions in southern India. Over the next three years, this work resulted in several publications and more importantly, greatly helped him understand rural India and continues to influence his current work. He had during this time also worked towards a master’s degree in journalism from Osmania University, Hyderabad.

Harsha Vadlamani was invited in Global Artist Committee of Asian Art Association in April 2022.
