Together! We can win!

Zhu Jiajie, Singapore

The year 2020 has been a challenging one for everyone across the globe. The coronavirus that has hit the world poses as a serious threat for all and countless deaths have been reported globally. This has raised challenges for implementing health safety measures and has affected the world on a global and economical scale. This has also sparked a movement everywhere to increase health awareness and to be properly protected in the midst of this deathly pandemic. Safety and health is now the priority of every country. Every citizen is now armed with their own individual responsibility to take as many safety precautions as they can. Nations are also seen helping each other to tide over this difficult time. The inspiration of my artwork comes from this challenging time as the world around me rises up to battle through the pandemic. Governments across the world lay down rules for every citizen to wear a mask to protect not only ourselves but the loved ones around us. Schools teach us to wash our hands and sanitize them regularly, and to always adhere to a 1 metre distance rule when out and about. Stringent measures have been set in place that affects our lives on a personal level. What we once took for granted, such as traveling to other countries for holidays is now barred so as to prevent further spread of the virus. Despite all this, I believe that with the effort of every individual, every healthcare worker, and every researcher, we are bound to find the cure and we will surely be able to overcome this trying time. I believe with our tenacity and strength, we will be able to overcome this as one. (Tree Art, SG)
